I welcome all communications regarding my ancestors who may be Kesterton, Blythe, Marshall, and Hughes.

The KMG is a Master Generation Database for the Surname Kesterton to be used as a research aid in hunting for your Kesterton ancestors. The general format splits the subjects into Male and Female names, then sorts alphabetically, with unknown "male" infants (who mostly died in infancy) at the end. After finding the male Kesterton of interest, look for the next sorting field which is the birth year. When this is unknown it is estimated by the following method: christening (same year, usually within 2 weeks), marriage (21 years after birth), children, with the parent assumed to have been born at least 22 years before the birth of the first known child, death (same year as birth, unless age is specified).

The attempt was made to keep the columns lined up. The format for a date is ddmmmyyyy as 12JAN1877. This is easier to read than 1-12-1877 which can be confused with 12-1-1877.

At this time, only the males are included online.

List of Needs

If anyone has collected them and would care to pass them on, they are:

(1) parish entries that are not currently in the database. Many vital events for Kesterton are as yet undiscovered.

(2) birth, marriage, and death certificates -- typescripts or photocopies.

(3) photographs of key Kestertons from the past - males born before 1900 who had large families, preferably portraits and group gatherings.

(4) Volunteer Archivists. In case any Kestertons pass away, volunteers are most welcome who can receive their papers, photo albums, and family bibles.
